Tuesday. Windy day with some sunshine and showers.
The Langstrath Valley is one of the quieter and more secluded corners of the Lake District, tucked between the rugged slopes of Borrowdale and the high fells of the central mountains. Following the course of Langstrath Beck, the valley offers a combination of open fellside, rocky outcrops, cascading water and rugged mountain scenery. It is a classic glacial valley. Its broad, U-shaped profile was carved by moving ice during the Ice Age, leaving steep sides and a relatively wide valley floor.
