climb up Wetherlam
the most northerly of the Coniston Fells, its north-east slopes descend to Little Langdale. The summit is a gentle dome with a cairn marking the highest point. The vista is wide with the majority of the Southern, Central and Eastern Fells in view.
In the past Wetherlam was extensively exploited for its mineral resources. The slopes on all sides are pitted with disused copper mines and slate quarries, making it the most industrialised of the Lake District fells

Coniston Old Man, Swirl How, Copper Mines Valley
an 11.5 mile hike taking in the Old man of Coniston, Swirl How and back down via the Copper Mines Valley.
Incredible views across Morecombe Bay, Isle of Man, various Lake District fells and mountains including Scarfell Pike, Skiddaw & Helvellyn. Scotland just about visible to the North and the Pennines to the East.
