An 8 mile circular walk, starting from Rosthwaite in the Borrowdale valley and taking in the 'hidden' valley of Langstrath below the Stonethwaite fell.

Latrigg Fell & Skiddaw
When I left for my walk I had planned a low level 7 mile valley route. A mix up with the bus times and better weather than I expected and somehow I ended up climbing Skiddaw as part of a 12 mile hike. I started by climbing Latrigg Fell for views over Keswick and Derwent water and kind of just kept climbing.
Skiddaw is the sixth-highest mountain in England. It lies just north of the town of Keswick, Cumbria, and dominates the skyline in this part of the northern lakes at 931-metre (3,054 ft).
The view From High Man the north east quadrant is filled by the quiet fells of Back o'Skiddaw, with the Border hills, the Cheviots and the North Pennines behind them. To the south east are Blencathra, the Far Eastern Fells and the Helvellyn range; behind these are vistas of the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland. On a clear day the views extend to The Coniston Fells, the Scafells, Western and North Western Fells, with a portion of Snowdonia visible between Kirk Fell and Pillar. On a good day you can also see the Isle of Man
