Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. It lies on the north coast of the country in the traditional county of Sutherland, around 120 miles (190 km) north of Inverness. The area is remote, and the parish is huge and sparsely populated, covering an area from east of Loch Eriboll to Cape Wrath, the most north-westerly point of the Scottish mainland
Following the travels of a 2011 Brazilian Volkswagen Type 2 camper van around the UK. Zoom in/out on the map to see where we have visited. Click on the marker to find the link direct to that page. I will be adding more and more of my locations from the last few years over the coming weeks.

Scotland North Coast East to West
Driving in the opposite direction to the last time I drove this route.
The weather was not exactly great but Scotland still looks amazing in rain and grey skies.
I am staying at Durness for quite a while now so I will probably drive back along the coast again on a brighter day.

Point of Ness & Dwarwick Head
My last day staying at Dunnet Bay started with an early morning stroll around Dwarwick Head and the Point of Ness before returning to the van just as it started to rain at lunch time. I then went for my last evening stroll along the beach.
