Monday
More overnight snow meant any hill climbing was out so it was a trip on the Ullswater "steamer" (actually diesel powered) from Glenridding to Howswater for the 7 mile hike back.
Ullswater is the 2nd Largest lake in the Lake District and is actually the result of 3 glacial valleys, hence its characteristic Z like shape.
Following the travels of a 2011 Brazilian Volkswagen Type 2 camper van around the UK. Zoom in/out on the map to see where we have visited. Click on the marker to find the link direct to that page. I will be adding more and more of my locations from the last few years over the coming weeks.

Honister & Fleetwith Pike
Sunday
Up across the snowy Honister pass for a short climb up Fleetwith Pike. I did my best through the snow but when the obvious path disappeared it was time to turn back before I fell down an abandoned mine shaft!

Winter morning on Derwent Water
Sunday
With a fresh overnight fall of snow, low cloud & mist and a calm water, I couldn't leave my stay on the shore of Derwent water without a few more photos...

Keswick
A moody looking Keswick today.
Keswick allegedly has more beds for guests, for its size, than anywhere else in the country. Even on a cold snowy mid March weekend it was bustling with tourists and hikers. Take a short walk to the Derwent shore and there are some great views.
