The Ferry to Rock

I have been lucy with the weather today and took advantage of the fact by taking the passenger ferry over to Rock and spending the afternoon in the sandy beach.

Another family holiday destination. This time in the early 80's, before it became a trendy area and Jamie Oliver set up shop.

For some reason I have never been here before. Quite a spectacular place if a little scary with high sheer cliffs. Worth it though.

More Padstow

I have visited Padstow many times over many years and I have never seen further than the centre and harbour. I took the opportunity today to go and explore a little bit more.

Now staying near Padstow for a few days. Padstow is now a very popular "up market" tourist destination and that is reflected in the restaurants and gift shops in the town. It sits on the Camel Estuary opposite the resort of Rock. Rock is the place famous for attacting the public/private school kids on their summer holidays and that is very evident as you walk around Padstow!
