St David's - The smallest city in Britain

St David's is a city smaller than some villages.

Pembrokeshire Coast path - Caerfai Bay to Whitesands Bay

Monday

Perfect coastal walking conditions today - sunny with white fluffy clouds and a gentle cooling breeze. This was a 9 mile walk taking in a huge variety of coast and included sightings of Porpoise and seals. From Whitesand sands I was able to get a bus back to St Davids.

There are views towards Ramsey Island. Ramsay Sound has a very fast moving current which is one of the fastest coastal currents in the UK and also high in the top list in the World.

Pembrokeshire Coast path - Caerfai Bay to Solva

Sunday

Having arrived at my St Davids campsite mid afternoon, I decided to go for a short stroll along the coast.  Before I knew it I had walked 5 miles and arrived in Solva. Happily, I was able to get a local bus back to St Davids in time to cook myself some dinner.

Pembrokeshire Coast - Newgale Sands

Sunday

2 1/2 miles of sandy beach

Pembrokeshire coast - the deer park

Sunday

Near Marloes, managed by the National Trust, The Deer Park is a headland contained by a stone wall built around 1800 as an embellishment to the St Bride's Estate. The wall runs parallel to an Iron Age embankment on the Western side of a glacial meltwater. From the headland, there are views to Midland Isle, and Skomer Island.

Marloes Sands

Sunday

My walk on Saturday ended at Marloes sands just as it started pouring with rain. This meant I did not get a very clear view of the beach. As my guide book suggests this is one of the most beautiful on the prembrokshire coast, I decided to pay another visit on Sunday - this time in beautiful sunshine.
