An early start to catch the calm of Loch Lomond at Milarrochy Bay before a drive west to Knapdale Peninsula, Argyle.
Includes a stop at the Rest and be Thankful view point so named as the climb out of Glen Croe is so long and steep at the end that it was customary for travellers to rest at the top, and be thankful for having reached the highest point.
A one night stopover on the shore of Loch Lomond before I head west. Milarrochy Bay is on the east shore of Loch Lomond near the village of Balmaha. Known locally as Bakey Bay, due to the rounded mounds regularly on display.
A short climb up from the top of the Kirkstone pass to St Raven's Edge with views across to Windermere and also back down the valley where I have been staying for the last few nights.
