Benbecula and a climb up Rueval.

The isle of Benbecula is a generally flat land of heathery peat moors.

The island is about 12 kilometres (7 miles) from west to east and a similar distance from north to south. It lies between the islands of North Uist and South Uist, along with multiple smaller islands. It is connected to both by road causeways.

There is only one real peak on the island, a hill called Rueval which reaches at a modest 124m, but affords excellent views across the islands lochs to the peaks of North and South Uist. From the top of this hill you can clearly see how the landscape is dominated by water.
