Shetland day 3
A walk starting from the camper, following 6 miles of the East coast of South Mainland Shetland to the village of Fladdabister and then around the cliffs of Coall Head before heading back along the quiet lanes.
Following the travels of a 2011 Brazilian Volkswagen Type 2 camper van around the UK. Zoom in/out on the map to see where we have visited. Click on the marker to find the link direct to that page. I will be adding more and more of my locations from the last few years over the coming weeks.

Shetland day 2
Exploring the southern peak of Mainland Shetland with walks up to and around Sumburgh Head, Ness of Burgi and a visit to the beach at Bay of Quendale.
Sumburgh Head is a headland located at the southern tip of the Shetland Mainland in northern Scotland. The head consists of a 100 m high rocky spur and topped by the Sumburgh Head Lighthouse.
The Ness of Burgi is a narrow peninsula that stretches to the south from the Scat Ness headland of Mainland, Shetland. The Ness of Burgi fort, probably built around 100 BC in the Iron Age, lies on the Ness. The fort is isolated by a rampart and had a ditch on either side. A ruined stone wall, now a low bank covered in turf, runs from side to side of the promontory and may be part of the fortification.
