Coast walk : Dunseverick Castle to Giant's Causeway (Ulster Way)

Ireland day 3:

A walk following the Ulster Way / Causeway Coastal way path from Dunseverick Castle to The Giant's Causeway, and back again. Including the wandering around the causeway, a total of 10 miles walked.

Another sunny day which is great, but means some harsh light and dark shadows for the photo's.

The castle was captured and destroyed by General Robert Munro in 1642 and his Cromwellian troops in the 1650s, and today only the ruins of the gatelodge remain. A small residential tower survived until 1978 when it eventually surrendered to the sea below.

The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption.
