Dunnet Beach & Caithness Flagstone Trail

Caithness Flagstone was once a booming industry. Much of the stone was processed in the harbour area of Castletown village, known as Castlehill, and many of the streets of London, Sydney, Edinburgh and the financial district of New York City are paved with it.

I walked along the beach of Dunnet Bay to the old harbour of Castletown and the old stone works.
