Stoer Head & the Old Man of Stoer

Stoer Head (Rubha Stoer in Scots Gaelic) is a point of land north of Lochinver and the township of Stoer in Sutherland, NW Scotland. A lighthouse on the point marks the northern entrance to The Minch.

The old man of stoer is a sea stack composed of Torridonian sandstone, and is 60 metres (200 ft) high.It was first climbed in 1966. Along with Am Buachaille and the Old Man of Hoy, it has become something of a legend among climbers.
