Martin, Alison & Boris the schnauzer joined me for a couple of nights at Dufton. We had planned to take the 10 mile hike up to and around High Cup. Unfortunately the weather beat us and we opted for a low level walk which would give us a view towards High Cup. As we reached the point of best view, the sun finally came out and shone over the valley.
High Cup is a vast "hole" in the moorside of Mickle Fell in the northern Penines, A waterfall at the head of the Cup is called High Cup Nick.
