The Hardknott Pass rises 1000 feet out of Eskdake in little more than 1 mile. It has hairpin bends that boast an incline of 33%.
I had already decided not to take Skooby up the pass. I would be confident getting up the hills - its the coming down again I was more concerned about.
So I walked up all the way to the windy freezing top.
