Doolin pier

Ireland day 24 (cont.)

Doolin is a coastal village in County ClareIreland, on the Atlantic coast. It is a noted centre of traditional Irish music, which is played nightly in its pubs, making it a popular tourist destination. There are numerous nearby archaeological sites, many dating to the Iron Age and earlier.

Doolin Pier, is really the village harbour and is the departing point for boat trips to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher.

The Burren Coast - Wild Atlantic Way

Ireland day 24

The Burren is a karst/glaciokarst landscape centred in County Clare, on the west coast of Ireland. The area is formed from a thick succession of sedimentary rocks, largely limestones but also including sandstonesmudstones and siltstones.

A very windy day with occasional rain showers make this dramatic landscape look especially wild.
