Anglesey north coast.

Anglesey for a few days. Currently camped up on north coast at cove side site. Just been out on cliff watching porpoises pop their heads out of the sea.

No pictures as barely any signal to upload them.

Silloth

Silloth is a small holiday resort town overlooking the Solway Firth with views towards Southern Scotland. The town centre has wide Victorian cobbled streets that overlook "The Green" before the promenade.  The weekend is due to have a vintage rally and a few of the participants were already arriving.

Cumbria coastline

I got lucky with yesterday's weather and drove up the Cumbria coast with plenty of sunshine. It's a mix of scrubland and Sandhills and cumbria's only sea cliff at St bees. Ironically it was also the first time this trip I actually got to see the sea close up as it does not go out so far at low tide.

I am camped up at silloth which is pretty much as far north on the west coast in England as you can get. Views towards west Scotland are pretty impressive.

Cumbrian Mountains

And so to a spectacular (and a little scary at times) drive along the edge of the Cumbrian Mountains. Some steep climbing and hard bends (in first gear) and a 25% gradiant decline, this was quite a trip. At times the stone walls alongside the single track road were a little too close for comfort.

Hike with a view

Up early to take advantage of the good weather, parked up an Ambleside for a 2 hour hike ascending 580ft with views across Ambleside and Lake Winderemere.
